Speed suspected factor in fatal motorcycle crash in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — A 28-year-old man was killed early Wednesday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle in the Goodyear Heights neighborhood, police say.

The crash occurred at about 12:20 a.m. on Goodyear Boulevard near Ruckel Road, police say. The man was driving a Harley-Davidson east on Goodyear when he crashed, ejecting him from the bike.

He was taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital but died of his injuries, police say. The victim’s name has not been released.

Police say investigators believe speed played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
