Tragedy as man dies in Humber Bridge crash

A 74-year-old man has tragically died after a motorbike and lorry crashed on the Humber Bridge on Friday.

The crash happened on the northbound carriageway of the A15 at around 2.15pm. The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he later died of his injuries.

Emergency services attended the scene on Friday (June 16) afternoon and a full closure of the bridge was put in place. Humberside Police has now issued a fresh appeal for dash cam footage and witnesses in relation to the crash.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “A man who sustained life threatening injuries has now died following a collision on the A15, Humber Bridge on Friday 16 June. Officers investigating a serious road traffic collision on the A15, Humber Bridge are appealing for information following the incident on Friday, 16 June.

“We were called to attend a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and lorry on the northbound carriageway at approximately 2.15pm. The rider of the motorbike, a 74-year-old man was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment where he later died from his injuries.

“We are continuing to appeal for anyone who may have dash cam footage or who witnessed the collision to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 385 16 June.”
