Tributes to ‘wonderful’ son, 29, who died in A12 crash near Blythburgh
Tributes have been paid to a “wonderful” man who died after a crash on the A12 in Suffolk last month. Emergency services were called just before 7.30pm on Thursday, May 25, to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the A12 at Blythburgh, near the A145 junction, involving a motorbike and a stationary van.
The motorcyclist sadly died at the scene. Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Alexander Wilford from Worlingham, near Beccles.
Alexander’s family have issued the following tribute via Suffolk Police. They said: “Alex was a man full of ideas and possibilities: he had a beautiful soul and made the world a better place by being here.
“Alex lived in Worlingham and worked all over Suffolk. For most of his working life, he was a knowledgeable and passionate tree surgeon. Recently Alex diversified into the world of vehicle recovery and in April this year he fulfilled his dream and started up his own business, Aqua Trad.
“Alex was a wonderful partner, son, uncle and friend. He is missed immensely by his partner Rachel, his mum and dad and everyone else whose lives he touched and has so many happy memories of him.”
Officers are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, along with anyone driving in the area just prior to the incident who has a dashcam in their vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference: 37/30341/23.
