UPDATE: Crash on A87 closes road in Wester Ross to all traffic after car and lorry collide between Kyle of Lochalsh and Balmacara

Breaking news.
EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a crash between a car and lorry that has closed the A87 in Wester Ross.
The road was shut to all traffic at a location between Kyle of Lochalsh and Balmacara following the collision at around 3.50pm.
Traffic Scotland initially described the crash as a “multi-car incident”, but the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and police have both since confirmed that the collision involved a lorry and car.
There was no immediate word as to whether anyone was injured.
A police spokesman said: “Emergency services are at the scene and motorists should avoid the area where possible.”
The fire brigade sent several appliances to the scene, including what it described as a heavy rescue unit.
