A13 crash sees driver reported for careless driving
Emergency services were called to the A13 near Vange following a crash involving a car and a motorbike at around 7:25am.
Essex Travel News said police held up all the traffic to clear the accident which resulted in severe delays during rush hour yesterday morning.
As a result of the crash on the A13, the rider of the motorbike has been taken to hospital for treatment.
His condition is currently unknown.
Essex Police has also confirmed that the driver of the car has been reported for careless driving.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.23am to a road traffic collision involving a car and motorbike on the A13 near Vange.
“An ambulance and ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene.
“One patient was transported to Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
The crash resulted in delays of more than 30 minutes with queues all the way back to Sadlers Farm.
A spokesman for Essex Police urged any witnesses or anyone with any footage to get in touch.
They said: “We were called at 7.25am on Wednesday 12 July to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on the A13 near Vange.
“The rider, a man in his 40s, has been taken to hospital.
“Officers spoke to the driver of the car at the scene, and he has been reported for the offence of careless driving.
“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
“Please quote incident 209 of 12/07/2023.”
