A35 into Dorset closed after crash between car and lorry
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, are in attendance on the A35 near Axminster in east Devon.
Devon and Cornwall Police said it was called to the busy road - a key route into Dorset - at about 1.40pm between the Axminster and Musbury turn-offs.
The force confirmed that the collision involved a car and a lorry and road closures are in place to allow emergency crews to attend and the air ambulance to land safely.
"Police were called at around 1:40pm today following reports of a road traffic collision on the A35, Kilmington, Axminster between a car and a lorry," a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said.
"We advise road users to avoid the area and seek alternative routes if possible."
Dorset Council's live travel maps says that 'investigation works' are taking place on the road.
Diversions are in place with congestion reported in Axminster as traffic diverts around the crash.
