A436 Cotswolds Audi crash leaves biker in his 30s seriously injured

A motorcyclist is seriously injured in hospital following a crash with a car on the A436 in Andoversford last night (July 5). Emergency services were called to the scene[1] in the Cotswolds shortly after 8.30pm with a report of a crash just before the junction for Gloucester Road.

The collision took place near to The Kilkeney Inn and involved a white and red Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle and silver Audi Q3, say Gloucestershire Police[2]. The road was closed overnight for investigation work to take place.

A police spokesperson said: “The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 30s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a serious but stable condition at this time. His family have been informed.

“Road closures were into place between Seven Springs on the A436 and from the A40 towards Kilkenny before reopening at around 7.30am this morning (Thursday 6 July).

“Officers from the Roads Policing Unit would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police. Additionally, anyone with dashcam footage or information they feel may be relevant is also asked to make contact.”
