A MAN was taken to hospital after suffering ‘’serious’ injuries last week.

An air ambulance was dispatched to Padgate on Thursday and landed on fields off Oakwood Avenue.

It has today, Tuesday, been confirmed by police that officers and paramedics were called to Ashwood Avenue after 4pm.

This came following reports that a man was seriously injured by a vehicle falling off a jack and onto him.

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: “We were called to respond after reports that a van had fallen onto a patient.

“An ambulance crew, air ambulance and response vehicle attended.

“A man in his 50s was taken to hospital by road to be treated for major trauma related injuries.”

A Cheshire Police spokesman added: “At around 4.05pm on Thursday, July 13, police were called reports of an incident on Ashwood Avenue, Warrington.

“Officers attended and found that a white Ford Transit van had fallen on top of a man.

“The man, in his 50s, was fixing the vehicle when it collapsed on top of him.

“He sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.”
