Biker flown to hospital with ‘life-threatening’ injuries after crash

A biker was airlifted to hospital with "life-threatening" injuries after a crash in Conwy[1] last night. It happened on Conway Road, in Mochdre, at around 8pm.

The casualty was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, which has a major trauma unit. Police have appealed for witnesses or anybody with dashcam footage to contact the force.

A North Wales Police[2] statement said: "A motorcyclist has sustained serious, life-threatening injuries following a road traffic collision in Mochdre last night (Tuesday, 11 July). Shortly after 8pm police were notified of a single-vehicle collision involving a Kawasaki motorcycle on Conway Road.

"Emergency services attended the scene, including the air ambulance[3]. The motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital in Stoke where he remains."

Sergeant Nicola Laurie of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have witnessed the manner of riding prior to the collision to contact us. Equally, anyone who was travelling in the area at the time and who may have dash cam footage are also urged to make contact.”

The road re-opened shortly before 11pm and police thanked the local community and motorists for their patience. Anyone with information can contact the police via the live webchat or by calling 101, quoting reference number A109258.
