Boy, 6, injured after being hit by saloon car in Somerset town

A boy was injured after being hit by a car in North Petherton. Investigating officers from Avon and Somerset Police[1] are appealing for information on the crash which took place on Monday, June 26.

Police were called to Merino Way at around 4.30pm to reports of a collision between a dark-coloured saloon and a child. The car fled the scene before officers arrived.

The six-year-old boy did not required hospital treatment for his injuries but the force are now keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened. They are also urging anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.

Avon and Somerset Police said in an appeal: “If you were in the area and have any information, or have any relevant footage, please contact us.
