Crash closes A55 as emergency services attend
A crash on the A55 has closed a section of the road. North Wales Police[1] has suggested motorists find alternative routes.
The section of the busy road had two crashes on it within a short space of time. Initially, two lanes were closed on the A55[2] westbound between junction 33B and 33A.
This has now cleared and the lanes have reopened. However, a second incident between Junction 35 Dobshill and Junction 34 Ewloe has seen the road closed in a westbound direction.
Westbound traffic is being diverted off at J35 Dobshill. Traffic Wales said there is heavy traffic on surrounding routes.
North Wales Police shared the following message on social media: “There has been a Road Traffic Collision Westbound A55 near to the Broughton[4] turn-off. Can motorists find an alternative route until further notice please.”
At this time it is not clear when the road will reopen or how many vehicles were involved in the incident. This is not a live blog but the article will be updated when more information is available.
