Cyclist hospitalised after A9 crash at Dalwhinnie

The A9 was closed early this morning after a Badenoch crash which forced motorists to divert for several hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.25 am, police were called to a road crash on the A9 at Dalwhinnie involving a cyclist and a lorry.

“The 44-year-old male cyclist was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where he remains for treatment.

“The lorry driver was not injured.

“The road re-opened around 5.45 am.

“A 31-year-old man has been arrested for alleged road traffic offences. Enquiries are ongoing.”
