Emergency services called to the A465 in Pontrilas

Emergency services were called to the A465 near Pontrilas Business Park shortly before 7.30am, including two ambulances and a paramedic officer.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said the driver of the car, a man, was treated by ambulance staff for injuries not believed to be serious before he was conveyed to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the van, also a man, received treatment from medics for minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital.

A fire crew from Ewyas Harold was also sent, who isolated the batteries from the two vehicles and moved them off the carriageway.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "The incident involved a car and a small van, both on all four wheels, which were made safe by the crew and moved to a place of safety

"Two male casualties, one in his 30s and one in his 50s, were handed into the care of the ambulance service who attended along with police.

"The incident was marked as pending closure at 08.45am."
