Live M1 traffic updates today as Northants crash leaves motorway closed after vehicle overturns
The M1 motorway is closed in Northants following a crash today (Monday, July 17). Emergency services are at the scene on the northbound carriageway between Junction 14 (Milton Keynes) and Junction 15 (Northampton).
The crash was first reported shortly before 7pm. The air ambulance is reported to have attended and reports suggest a vehicle has overturned and a traffic diversion is in place.
A National Highways spokesperson said: “The M1 is closed northbound between Junction 14 (Milton Keynes) and Junction 15 (Northampton) due to a collision. Northamptonshire Police are in attendance.

“Delays are likely on approach to the closure and diversion routes. If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
Inrix, the traffic data company, said: “M1 Northbound closed, stationary traffic due to overturned lorry from J14 A509 (Milton Keynes) to J15 A45 (Northampton). All traffic held around 6.55pm. Southbound was briefly held for an air ambulance landing, and has now been released. Traffic is being forced off at J14.
