M42 live as air ambulance raced to serious lorry crash near Birmingham Airport
Emergency services have raced to the scene of a serious crash close to Birmigham Airport. An air ambulance has been scrambled to the scene on the M42 northbound, near J6, earlier this afternoon (July 25).
Police have closed a section of the major motorway following the collision between a HGV and a van. As a result, motorists are stuck in bumper to bumper traffic following the closure between between J6 and J7. National Highways West Midlands tweeted: “The M42 is now closed northbound, between J6 and J7, near BHX.
“This is due to a multi-vehicle collision involving a Heavy Goods Vehicle and a van. Emergency services including Air Ambulance continue to work at scene.”
