M42 lorry crash near BHX live as air ambulance at scene with drivers stuck in gridlock

An air ambulance is at the scene of a serious crash near Birmingham Airport.[1] The collision involving a HGV and a van happened on the M42[2] northbound, near J6, this afternoon, July 25.

Drivers are currently stuck in huge traffic[3] delays after emergency services closed the major motorway between J6 and J7. National Highways West Midlands tweeted: “The M42 is now closed northbound, between J6 and J7, near BHX.

“This is due to a multi vehicle collision involving a Heavy Goods Vehicle and a van. Emergency services including Air Ambulance continue to work at scene.”
