Man, 20s, dies after articulated lorry crash on major Westcountry road
A man in his 20s from the Bristol area has died following a crash on a major Westcountry road.[1]
The man, who was driving a long wheelbase Mercedes Sprinter, died after a collision with an articulated lorry on the A361 North Devon Link Road, which joins the M5 at junction 27.
Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the scene at Loxbeare, near Tiverton, at around 1:30pm yesterday (Wednesday, July 26).
The crash involved a brown Mercedes long wheel-based sprinter van and a white and green articulated lorry. The driver of the Mercedes van, confirmed to be from the Bristol area, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.[3]
A police spokesperson said: “Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.
“Anyone with any relevant information and dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation is asked contact police via our website or by calling 101 quoting log 441 26 July.”
The driver of the lorry was uninjured. The road was closed for around eight hours to allow for scene investigation to take place.
