Man, woman and three children rushed to hospital after car and van crash

A man, a woman and three children have been rushed to hospital after a crash between a car and a van on the A77.

The road near Minishant has been closed in both directions while police and ambulance crews work at the scene.

Emergency services were called around 4.50pm to the area of road in Ayrshire.

The public are being advised to avoid the road and plan alternative travel.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.50pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, officers were called to a report of a crash on the A77 near Minishant involving a car and a van.

“A man, a woman and a three children have been taken to hospital.

“The road is currently closed in both directions and diversions are in place.

“The public are asked to avoid the area at this time.”

“The public is asked to avoid the area and seek an alternative route where possible.”

Traffic Scotland have issued guidance[1] for travellers and urged to plan their journey in advance.
