Mercedes driver dies in crash on North Devon Link Road

A man has died following a crash on the North Devon Link Road. Police were called at around 1:30pm on Wednesday following reports of a collision on the North Devon Link Road at Loxbeare near Tiverton.

The crash involved a brown Mercedes long wheel-based sprinter van and a white and green articulated lorry. The driver of the Mercedes van, who is a man in his 20’s from the Bristol area, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured. The road was closed for around eight hours to allow for scene investigation to take place[1].


Emergency services at the scene

A police spokesperson said: “Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.

“Anyone with any relevant information and dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation is asked contact police via our website or by calling 101 quoting log 441 26 July.”
