Oria Henry: Inquest opens into death of girl, 2, and father in crash
The inquests into the death of two-year-old Oria Henry and her father, Ashley, have opened. The pair died when their car collided with a lorry on the A153 in Anwick, near Sleaford[1], on Father’s Day (June 18).
A murder investigation was launched two days later[2], though Lincolnshire Police[3] said officers were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident. At an inquest held in Lincoln Coroners’ Court in the morning of Monday July 10, it was heard that the precise cause of death for Leicester toddler Oria was yet to be determined. Oria Rose Henry was born on April 6, 2021, the inquest heard.
During a following hearing, held an hour later, it was said that the precise cause of death for her father, 35, was likewise yet to be determined. Mr Henry worked as an office administrator and also lived in Leicester.
Both inquests have been adjourned until December 18. In a touching tribute to her ‘darling daughter’[4] in June, mum Rachael Leader talked about the ‘indescribable pain’ she felt. She said: “I’m so sorry your precious life was taken from you.
“You gave me so much light, sweetheart, so much love and so much happiness.”
The murder investigation continues.
