Tragedy as man killed in hit-and-run horror in Clapham High Street

man has been killed in a hit-and-run in a south London[1] nightlife hotspot.
The 27-year-old died at the scene in Clapham High Street[2] after being struck about 2.40am on Sunday.
Police[3] have cordoned off the area and erected a forensics tent outside a local supermarket[4].
The surrounding Voltaire Road and A3 were closed as police completed their accident investigation work.
A Met spokeswoman said: “Police were called following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car on Clapham High Street, SW9.
“Officers attended alongside the London Fire Brigade and medics from the London Ambulance Service.
“Despite the effort of emergency services a 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to contact his next of kin.
“The driver did not stop at the scene.
“A number of road closures are in place as officers continue to investigate.
