Woman seriously injured in collision with Kent County Road Commission truck

KENT COUNTY, MI – A Rockford woman was seriously injured Wednesday, July 19, when she lost control of her car and it crashed into an oncoming Kent County Road Commission truck, state police said.
The 61-year-old woman was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. on M-44 NE near Wabasis Road in Grattan Township.
State police said that the woman was driving east on M-44 when she went onto the road shoulder to pass a vehicle that was turning left. She lost control of her vehicle before it crashed into the westbound Road Commission truck.
The truck driver was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
Assisting state police were Kent County sheriff’s deputies, Cannon Township and Grattan Township firefighters and the Road Commission.
