A12 Colchester crash sees traffic stopped and police on scene
National Highways is reporting a crash involving a lorry and a car within the roadworks on the A12 Colchester-bound, between Junction 25 for Marks Tey and Junction 26 for Colchester.
Traffic has been stopped following the incident, and police are on the scene.
Essex Travel News is reporting two lanes have closed after the incident.
Traffic has been STOPPED on the #A12[1] northbound in #Essex[2] between J25 (#MarksTey[3]) and J26 (#Colchester[4]) due to a collision involving a lorry and a car within the roadworks.
Police are on scene. There’s 2.5 miles of congestion on approach.

AA Traffic is showing very slow traffic in the area, and there is miles of congestion being reported.
A National Highways provided an update on the incident shortly after 3.30pm.
They said: “There’s now five miles of stationary traffic on approach to the scene.
“Please consider alternative routes.”
UPDATE 4PM – This incident is now clear, and all lanes have re-opened.
A National Highways spokesman added: “Approximately five miles of congestion remains in the area but should now start to ease. Thanks for your patience this afternoon.”
