Multiple 999 crews including the Midlands Air Ambulance were called to the scene with the road being closed until around 2am. It was confirmed the biker, a man aged 48, died at the scene[3].
A police statement said: “At around 5.50pm yesterday evening (August 30) we received reports of a single vehicle collision involving a Honda motorcycle on the A46 Evesham bypass.
“The bike was traveling southbound from the direction of Salford Priors towards the Twyford Roundabout, when at one point the vehicle left the road and collided with a lamppost. The rider of the motorcycle, a 48-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman added: “Crews arrived to find one patient, a man, who was in a critical condition. Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
Along with this crash, there was another fatal incident on the A46 last night. Gloucestershire Police said a man died following a crash involving a van and motorbike at Ashchurch[5].
