A87 crash: Man left fighting for life after following collision

Road policing officers are appealing for information following the incident, which occurred on the A87 near Glen Shiel.

The crash, which involved a Triumph motorbike and a Fiat Doblo campervan, happened at 5.20pm on August 25.

Emergency services attended and the 73-year-old man was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition is described as life threatening.

The occupants of the campervan were checked over by the Scottish Ambulance Service and did not require hospital treatment.

The road was shut for investigation work to be carried out and re-opened around 3am on Saturday August 26.

Sergeant Neil Macdonald said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing for anyone who hasn’t already spoken to police to get in touch.

“If you were in the area and saw what happened or have dash-cam footage which may assist us please contact us as soon as possible.”
