Car crashes after ladder falls from van on motorway
A car crashed after swerving out of the way of a ladder that had fallen from the back of a van.
Police attended reports of a crash after a Ford Fiesta came off the road on the M56.[1] The driver said they had been forced to swerve out of the way of a set of ladders which fell from the back of a van travelling in front of them.
Officers have confirmed no one was injured, however, the car is visibly damaged. The driver of the van has been reported[2] for not properly securing the ladder.
A spokesperson for North West Motorway Police[4] said: “This Fiesta was involved in a road traffic collision on the M56 after taking evasive action to avoid a set of ladders that fell from the vehicle in front.
“Thankfully there were no injuries and the driver of the other vehicle was reported for not securing their load.”
