Child ‘seriously injured’ after being hit by car in Horley

A child has suffered serious injuries after a collision with a car in Horley[1] today (Friday). Police were called to the scene at Smallfield Road shortly before 6pm.

The report said that a collision happened near the Kings Head pub between the driver of a car and the child, who was on foot.

The child is receiving hospital treatment this evening. The road remains closed.

Police have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

In a statement, Surrey Police[3] said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a child suffered serious injuries following a collision in Horley earlier today (11 August). Police were called to Smallfield Road around 5.50pm following reports of a collision near the Kings Head pub between the driver of a car and the child, who was on foot.

“The child has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. The road is currently closed in both directions while emergency services deal with the incident.
