Crash between a lorry and a bus in Sunderland leads to disruption

Miraculously nobody was hurt when a bus and a lorry collided at Wearmouth Bridge, Sunderland.
The incident happened at 12.40pm and officers were quick to attend the scene.
Pictures showed how the traffic was working around the stationary bus and lorry as police officers inspected the scene.

The road was temporarily blocked but the roundabout has now been reopened.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "At around 12.40pm today (Tuesday) police received a report of a two-vehicle collision between a bus and a lorry on the A183 St Marys Boulevard roundabout in Sunderland.
“Emergency services attended the scene where thankfully nobody was believed to have been seriously injured.
“The road was temporarily blocked but has since been reopened.”
