Driver taken to hospital after dramatic A3072 Crediton crash
Dramatic pictures show the scene after a van crashed and overturned in Devon. The incident happened on Friday on the A3072 at Stockleigh Pomeroy, near Crediton.[1]
Firefighters said the driver, who managed to get himself out of the van, was taken to hospital by paramedics. Images from Crediton fire station show the extent of the incident, which happened just before 10am on Friday.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "At around 9:40am we were made aware of a Renault van having overturned on the A3072 near Stockleigh Pomeroy. The driver has minor injuries, but there could be some traffic build up whilst the vehicle is collected and removed."
The road was closed to remove the van and repair damage to a telegraph pole, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said. A spokesperson added: “Crews from Crediton attended a single vehicle RTC on the A3072 road between the Upton Hellions turning and Nomansland.
“On arrival the crew made the scene and vehicle safe whilst also undertaking casualty care for the one occupant who was out of the vehicle on arrival of the crew.
“The occupant was then conveyed to hospital by land ambulance and the scene was left in the hands of police for recovery of the vehicle. A road closure was in place for this incident to allow for safe recovery and the repairs to the telephone pole and cable.”
