Lane reopens after crash involving lorry on the A417

The Glos Police Specialist Ops team was called at 2.20pm today (August 14) to a report that a lorry had left the carriageway and gone down an embankment near the Highwayman pub on the A417.

Officers closed the A417 southbound between the A436 (Ullenwood) and the A419 (Cirencester) at around 3.20pm to deal with the incident.

Fire engines were also sent to the scene.

At 5pm National Highways announced that Lane 2 is now open to the public on the A417 southbound between the A436 (Ullenwood) and the A419 (Cirencester).

However, Lane 1 remains closed so that the police can recover the lorry.

There are currently no reports of significant delays on approach to the lane closure.
