Live M1 updates as motorway shut in both directions
Fatal crash
A person has died in a crash involving a lorry on the M1 in Leicestershire this morning. Leicestershire Police was called at 7.47am to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV).
The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver, a man believed to be in his 30s, was uninjured.
