Live M1 updates as police called to crash near junction 28 which closes three lanes of traffic
Police have been called to a collision on the M1 which has closed three lanes of traffic[1]. The crash has occurred on the busy motorway heading northbound between junctions 28 and 29 near Mansfield on Sunday, August 27.
National Highways[2] warned drivers to expect delays of around 20 minutes while work is carried out at the scene, confirming police are also in attendance. The nature of the collision is not yet known.
National Highways said in a statement: Three (of four) lanes are closed on the #M1[3] in #Derbyshire[4] northbound between J28 and J29 due to a collision. Derbyshire Police are in attendance. Delays of 20 minutes above normal travel times, please allow extra time for your journey. Thank you for your patience.”
