Major delays on the A17 in Boston as crash between lorry and car closes road

A crash on the A17 in Lincolnshire involving a car and a lorry is still causing major delays as the road has been closed throughout the morning. The collision is causing congestion on the A17 East Heckington, Boston[1] in both directions and the road has been closed from the B1394 to the A1121.

The collison was first reported at 5.47am and the road has been closed throughout the morning, causing major delays along the A17 from the Kyme Road turn-off to Swineshead Bridge.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police[2] said: “It’s incident 57 of today, reported at 5.47am. It’s an RTC involving a car and a lorry on the A17 near Heckington.

“The road will be closed for some time.” There are reports of injuries and further details are expected to be released later.

Mountain’s Boston Sausage farm shop has confirmed it is still open as normal despite the closed road and visitors will need to navigate past the ‘road closed’ sign. It is not yet known when the road will reopen or the extent of the injuries.
