Man, 55, who died 4 days ago in central Pa. crash is identified: coroner
A 55-year-old man who died Aug. 3 after being involved in a two-vehicle crash[1] has been identified.
Matthew B. Thompson, of York County, died from blunt force trauma, according to York County Coroner Pamela Gay. His death was ruled accidental.
The York County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the 1000 block of Woolen Mill Road in Hopewell Township following a crash at around 4:50 a.m.
According to a coroner’s report, an SUV crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a sedan that was being operated by Thompson. Gay said that Thompson was wearing his seatbelt; he died from his injuries at the scene.
The coroner’s officer said it did not have information to release on anyone else involved in the crash.
Pa. State Police out of York is investigating the crash, the coroner said.
