Man injured in car crash on A31 near Sturminster Marshall
Dorset Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A31 near to Stag Gate at 3.05pm on Friday, August 4.
The incident involved a brown Mitsubishi Outlander and a Ford Tourneo Custom people carrier, which was towing a caravan.
Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the Mitsubishi – a man aged in his 70s – was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be serious.
The occupants of the Ford did not sustain any serious injuries that required hospital treatment.
The road was cleared and reopened shortly before 6pm.
Officers investigating the crash are asking for witnesses or anyone who captured relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Police Constable Rich Shirley, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please get in touch.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, including the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to the incident.
“This collision resulted in the closure of a main trunk road during a busy period as the emergency services responded and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the incident.”
