N.J. motorcyclist killed in crash with pickup in N.Y.

A 54-year-old motorcyclist from New Jersey was killed in a crash with a pickup on Saturday in New York state, authorities said.

David J. Castner, a member of the board of trustees at Sussex County Community College, was riding south on Route 209 in Deerpark, Orange County at about 6:55 p.m. when tried to make a left turn in front of a northbound pickup also turning left, New York State Police[1] said.

Castner, of the Highland Lakes section of Vernon, was thrown from his motorcycle in the area of 3rd Street. He was brought to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
