New Castle County Governor’s Task Force Arrest Two Men for Drug Offenses and Resisting Arrest

The Delaware State Police have arrested 23-year-old Nazere Everett and 25-year-old Joshua Harris, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on drug charges and resisting arrest in Claymont last Thursday following a month-long investigation.

In July 2023, detectives from the New Castle County Governor’s Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations began investigating Nazere Everett, who was suspected of large-scale distribution of heroin and cocaine. On July 27, 2023, Governor’s Task Force detectives gained information that Nazere Everett and an unknown accomplice, later identified as Joshua Harris, were going to be in the Claymont area in possession of heroin and cocaine. At approximately 3:00 p.m., detectives observed Everett and Harris at the CVS located at 702 Naamans Road, Claymont. Harris was in possession of a bag containing unknown items, which he dropped upon spotting the detectives. Both Everett and Harris were taken into custody by detectives following a foot pursuit. The bag was recovered and found to contain:

  • Approximately 8,400 individual blue wax bags containing approximately 126 grams of suspected heroin
  • Approximately 120 grams of cocaine

Everett and Harris were taken to Troop 2 and charges with the following crimes:

Nazere Everett:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity (Felony) – 2 counts
  • Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity (Felony) – 2 counts
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Resisting Arrest

Everett was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $243,000 cash bond.

Joshua Harris:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity (Felony) – 2 counts
  • Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 3 Quantity (Felony) – 2 counts
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Resisting Arrest

Harris was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $243,000 cash bond.
