One killed in crash near N.J. park, officials say

One person was killed in a crash early Tuesday near Lincoln Park in Newark, authorities said.

The crash took place around 5 a.m. near the corner of Broad Street and Pennington streets, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office[1] said.

The person killed was pronounced dead at the scene, an officials said.

Newark police[2] referred questions to the prosecutor’s office, which said additional information about the crash wasn’t immediately available.
