Peckham High Street: Road closures in place as pedestrian hit by vehicle, air ambulances seen landing

Emergency services have set up a large cordon along Peckham High Street after a pedestrian was killed in a collision with a lorry.
Road closures are currently in-place from the junction with Peckham Hill Street to the Acorn and Gaumont House Surgery.
Video footage shows an air ambulance landing in Peckham bus station, with sirens heard in the background. An eye-witness says another air ambulance also landed in the area.

A Met Police spokesperson told LondonWorld: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 3.35pm on Wednesday, August 23 to reports of a lorry in collision with a pedestrian on Peckham High Street, SE15.
“Emergency services attended. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added it had sent “a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and a medic in a fast response car. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“The incident is ongoing and we are working with our emergency services partners.”
