Pedestrian dies in collision with lorry on the M1 near junction 20, police confirm
A pedestrian died in a crash with a lorry on part of the M1, police[1] have confirmed. The incident over the border in Leicestershire, near junction 20, was reported on the northbound carriageway at 7.47am on Wednesday (August 23).
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the lorry was not injured. The northbound carriageway remains closed[2] while investigation continues on the motorway.
The southbound carriageway was closed but has since reopened. Officers from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation unit are investigating the collision and appealing for witnesses to come forward.
