Person rushed to hospital after A417 lorry crash in Cotswolds
A person was taken to hospital after being injured in a crash which left a busy Cotswolds[1] road closed for hours. The incident happened on the A417[2] at around 2.20pm yesterday (August 14) on the southbound side of the road.
Gloucestershire Police[3] said the crash, in Duntisbourne Abbots, led to the lorry leaving the road. The A417 was closed[4] as a result and remained shut until just after 10pm.
GloucestershireLive sources say the incident happened after a “medical episode”. In a separate update from police, the force said a person was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
A police spokesperson said: “Emergency services were called at 2.20pm yesterday (Monday 14 August) with a report that a lorry had left the southbound carriageway of the A417 in Duntisbourne Abbots.
“One person was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with minor injuries. The road remained closed while the lorry was recovered last night, but has now reopened.”
