Teenage biker died on A65 after crash with car and pickup truck

A 18-year-old man has died after a crash involving a car, a motorbike and a pickup truck near Gargrave[1] last week.

North Yorkshire Police[2] were called to a crash involving a motorcycle, a car and a pick-up truck on the A65, south of Gargrave,[3] on Friday (August 18). The crash happened around 8.10am and the road remained closed for most of the day.

The 18-year-old man, who was riding a white Yamaha motorcycle, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital, where he has sadly later died.

Officers from the Major Collision Investigation Team continue to carry out their enquiries to establish the full circumstances around the crash and are re-appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident or captured dash cam footage to contact them.

The crash took place at 8.10am on Friday August 18 on the A65 south of Gargrave and involved the drivers of a blue Kia Rio and an orange Ford Ranger and the motorcyclist, who was riding a white Yamaha motorcycle with a black seat and fairings. The drivers of the other two vehicles were uninjured and are assisting police with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
