The 999 call to police seconds before man was murdered
The transcript of a 999 call shows the last words spoken by a man just moments before he was murdered.
Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin died when their car left the A46 dual carriageway near Leicester on February 11 2022, with prosecutors saying during a three-month trial at Leicester Crown Court that they were deliberately rammed off the road.
A TikTok influencer sobbed in the dock as she and her mother were found guilty of murdering two men during a high-speed car chase after ambushing them. You can read the whole story here[1] of how a “bored” mother had an affair and then ambushed and chased Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin.
As the defendants’ cars – a Seat Leon and an Audi TT – followed the TikTok crash victims up the A46 at speeds of around 90 to 100mph, Saqib Hussain was on the phone to Leicestershire Police. The recording of the 999 call was played to the jury numerous times during the nine-week trial at Leicester Crown Court.
Below is the conversation between Saqib (S) and the police operator (O). The phone call, which lasted just over four minutes, ended with Saqib shouting “Oh my god!”, which was followed by the sound of screaming and then a low bang and the call is cut off.
The call began at 1.28am on Friday, February 11, as the cars were all travelling up the A607 and the A46 out of Leicester. The crash happened near to the Six Hills junction north of the city.
