Tributes paid to Jake Green and Alfie Green who died in car crash on A20 near Farningham

Floral tributes have been left at the scene of a car crash which killed two young men.

Alfie Green and Jake Green died following the accident[1] on the A20 Main Road, near Farningham[2], on Monday, July 31.

A red Ford Escort was heading east when it was involved in a crash with a silver Ford Panel van travelling in the opposite direction.

Police and paramedics attended the scene where the occupants of the Escort, the two men aged 19 and 20, were confirmed dead.

Numerous floral tributes have since been left by friends and family alongside cards and notes.

One read: “This world is so cruel.”

Another said: “Love you always and forever.”

Pictures of the two friends have also been left alongside candles, cans of Red Bull, bottles of beer and cider and a packet of cigarettes.

Tributes have also been paid online and fundraisers set up to raise money for their funerals which have both already raised more than £3,000 at the time of writing. You can donate here[3] and here[4].

Ashley Green wrote a few words about his “handsome, young and cheeky” brother Jake.

He wrote: “Our boy Jake got taken well too soon. He deserves the best send off we can give him. RIP lil bro and Alfie Green. Sleep tight boys fly high.”

Lewis Nicholson said he was raising money on behalf of Alfie’s family so he could “have a good send-off”.

Police are continuing to carry out inquiries and are also urging witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.
