Two young sisters who died on A361 Frome Bypass crash named by police

Two sisters tragically died in a crash in Frome[1] last week. Madison, 21, and Liberty North, 17, known as Maddie and Libbie, were pronounced dead at the scene on the A361 Frome Bypass on Tuesday, July 25.

Avon and Somerset Police[2] were called at around 10.30pm to reports of a crash between a VW Polo and an Audi RS6[3]. A man in his 30s was also rushed to hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Investigating officers are now appealing to hear from anyone with relevant information on the crash. They are especially keen to speak with the driver of a white VW who was in the area at the time.

The force said: “Formal identification has now taken place and we can confirm the deceased are sisters Madison, aged 21, and Liberty North, aged 17, known as Maddie and Libby.

“Our thoughts remain with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time and they are being offered support by a specially-trained family liaison officer.”

They added: “If you can help, or have any more information, please quote reference 5223178752. If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5223178752, or complete our online appeals form[5].
