Woman dead and two seriously injured in crash on busy A road
A pensioner has died following a serious crash on a busy A road near Warminster[1], in Wiltshire. Emergency services were called to a crash involving two cars and an HGV on the A36[2] near Upton Scudamore at just after 2pm yesterday (August 11)
A woman in her 70s has died following the accident[3]. A Warminster Police spokesman said: “Her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.”
Two other people, a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s, were taken to hospital to be treated for serious but not life threatening injuries. Road[4] closures have been in place overnight to allow forensic collision investigators to attend the scene.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage to contact the serious collision[6] investigation team on 01225 694597 quoting log number POL-20230811-0199.
The road was closed on Friday afternoon and reopened at around 12.45pm today, Saturday, August 12.
