Woman ejected from vehicle, dies in rollover crash

KENT COUNTY, MI – A 58-year-old Fremont woman died Wednesday morning in a rollover crash after her vehicle veered off the road, Kent County sheriff’s deputies said.

The woman was not immediately identified, but police said she was the only occupant in the vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 7 a.m. report of a crash on Wednesday, Aug. 2, along 18 Mile Road NW, near Sparta Avenue NW, in Tyrone Township.

Kent City firefighters arrived at the scene to find the woman ejected from the vehicle. Police said the woman’s vehicle veered off the road before rolling several times.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. Police said initial information they’ve received indicated alcohol may be a contributing factor in the crash.
