Woman injured after crash between truck and car on major road near Peterborough

A woman has been injured after a crash between a truck and a car near Peterborough[1] this morning (August 3). Police were called to the A1 northbound at Wansford just after 7.30am to reports of a collision.

Officers went to the scene and found a woman had been hurt. The force said her injuries were not serious.

The incident caused traffic to build up. Traffic data company Inrix said the A1 Great North Road southbound was partially blocked, with congestion up to the Wittering turn-off and the A47 heading eastbound. This has now cleared.

A statement by Cambridgeshire[3] Constabulary said: “We were called by the ambulance service at just after 7.30am to a collision between a truck and a car on the A1 northbound at Wansford.

“A woman was injured but not seriously, and the road was cleared by 9.40am.”
