A30 Crowlas accident involving teenager and vehicle

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "At 10.30pm on Wednesday 13 September Ambulance and Police were called to the A30 near to the junction with Ludgvan Leaze, Crowlas.

"A collision had occurred between a car and an 18-year-old male pedestrian. He was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the location, and an examination of the scene was conducted. The road was reopened at around 9.30am this morning [14 September].

"We would like to thank the public for their patience and consideration during this time.

This incident is now clear, and the #A30[1] in #Cornwall[2] is now OPEN in both directions between #A3074[3] (near #Hayle[4] #Lelant[5]) and #A394[6] near #Crowlas[7].

There are no significant delays in the area.

This morning Inrix reported the road remained closed while police carried out investigation work and that traffic is coping well.

"Road closed due to accident investigation work. Traffic is coping well," it says.

The latest tweet from National Highways: South-West reports that the A30 is closed in both directions between A3074 (near Hayle Lelant) and A394 near Crowlas Longrock, due to a collision.

Devon and Cornwall Police are at scene with a diversions in place indicated by a circle symbol (applicable in both directions) via the B3302 south to Helston and the A394.

Calls for speed limit to be introduced after car ends up on roof blocking road[23]

A spokesperson for National Highways said it is warning people to expect delays:  "National Highways is warning motorists to expect delays during the rush hour on the A30 in Cornwall due to a police-led incident.

"An accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian took place overnight and the road has been closed in both directions between A3074 (Lelant) - A394 (Longrock).

"Police investigations are being undertaken and once complete, recovery will take place."
