Crash shuts one lane on A34 between Chieveley and East Ilsley – while A34 remains closed in both directions at Winchester

There is further traffic chaos on the A34 today after another crash just north of Newbury.

One lane is shut, northbound, between the M4 at Chieveley and East Ilsley.

The road is not expected to be cleared until 6.30pm, according to National Highways.

Elsewhere, the A34 remains closed in both directions between the A303 and M3 at Winchester, after a lorry overturned earlier today.

Nobody was seriously injured in the incident but the road has been shut all day while the vehicle is recovered and the road resurfaced.

It is now expected to reopen at around 10.15pm.
